GIZ-Nord is the Giftinformationszentrum-Nord, the poison information center of the four northern German states of Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Bremen, based in Göttingen. It gives advice around the clock on poisonings and suspected poisonings by phone on 0551 19240. In annual reports it evaluates the enquiries, also for individual states such as Lower Saxony, for example suspected plant poisonings among children.
