Hardly any question reaches us more often than this one: what does a website for a landscape gardening business cost? Many providers answer with a wide range, with price on request or with an hourly rate whose final sum only emerges after the last round of revisions. For a business that costs material, machine hours and crews to the euro, that is no basis for a decision. This is why we work with fixed prices that appear in the quote before the order. On this page you will find the three tiers, what each one covers, the items that may be charged separately and the running costs. Our full range of work is on the services page, the professional background on the page about the landscaping website.

Three tiers that suit landscaping businesses

Most of the businesses we talk to do not need a bespoke construction, they need a website that does three things: show their own projects, be found in the surrounding area and capture an enquiry so that you know what it is about before you call back. That is exactly what the two one-off tiers are built for. The third tier is not a website but the running operation: updates, backups, availability and small changes over the course of the year. It is optional and can be cancelled monthly. Which tier fits is not decided by budget alone but by how many trades and how many towns you want to be visible in.

The three tiers at a glance

All prices net plus VAT. We define the exact scope together before the quote, so that the number in the quote stays the number on the invoice.

About maintenance

All prices net plus VAT. A specific position in search results or a specific number of enquiries cannot be assured. What the individual components do is described on the pages portfolio gallery, enquiry form and local SEO for landscapers.

How these prices are meant

The amounts above are not bait prices that creep upwards during the conversation, they are the price for the scope described. If the scope grows because additional trade pages, further towns or a second language are added, we say so before the quote is issued and state the difference. What the quote says applies until handover.

What the fixed price includes

  • Page structure matched to your trades and your working area
  • Portfolio gallery showing your own projects sorted by trade
  • Enquiry form asking for property type, area, preferred date and location
  • Operation from a phone, with large buttons and a direct call function
  • Copy for every page, written after a conversation and a questionnaire
  • Foundations for local findability including structured data
  • Accessible implementation with sufficient contrast and keyboard operation
  • Hosting for the first year, encryption and handover with a briefing

These points are not optional extras that appear as separate lines in the quote and can then be struck out one by one. They are the reason a website produces enquiries at all. A form that only asks for a name and a message produces call-backs in which you spend twenty minutes collecting basic facts. A form that asks for property type, approximate area, location and preferred period filters out very small jobs and enquiries far outside your area in advance. How we build that in detail is described on the page about the enquiry form for landscaping businesses.

What is charged separately

Additional itemPrice netWhen it makes sense
Preparation of existing photographsfrom 290 €, one-offWhen project photos sit unsorted on a phone and need cropping, sorting and captioning
Further regional pagesby scope, stated in the quoteWhen you want to address working areas beyond the towns agreed
Further trade or service pagesby scope, stated in the quoteWhen a trade such as pond building or winter maintenance should have its own page
Copy in an additional languageby scope, stated in the quoteFor businesses with customers or applicants who do not speak German
Photo session on one of your sitesby effort and travelWhen no usable material exists and new images have to be taken
Upkeep and hosting from the second yearfrom 39 € per monthWhen you would rather not run the day-to-day operation yourselves

Three of these items deliberately carry no fixed figure. A regional page for a neighbouring village with two completed projects is a different amount of work from a page for a town you have worked in for years and where there is a great deal to tell. We state that in the quote, before you sign, not afterwards. The one item we can fix in advance is the preparation of existing photographs: it starts at 290 € net and covers selection, cropping, sequence and captions. What becomes of a chaotic camera roll is shown on the page photos for your website.

Why a fixed price rather than an hourly rate

You do not cost a garden rebuild by adding up hours at the end. You look at the plot, measure the area, clarify access, subsoil and disposal, and then submit a quote you stand by. We expect exactly that way of working from ourselves. An hourly model shifts the entire risk onto you: every question, every round of revisions and every technical surprise increases the invoice, and the final sum is only known once the project is finished. With a fixed price that risk sits with us. It forces us to clarify the scope properly beforehand and it spares you the worry that a number nobody planned for appears at the end.

The second reason is about substance. A landscaping website is not a pure design project but a tool with one clear job: to produce enquiries that suit your business. What that requires is something we know from working with businesses in this region (project experience), which means it can be described, planned and therefore costed. When a quote works with day rates and an effort estimate instead, it is usually unclear which pages will exist at the end. If you want to replace an existing website, the process is described on the page about the website relaunch.

Three billing models compared

A factual comparison of the usual models. Which one fits depends on budget, time and expectations.

Website builder on a monthly plan

  • Low entry cost, ready to start immediately
  • The monthly fee keeps running, even years later
  • Structure, copy, photos and upkeep stay entirely with you
  • On cancellation, little of the website usually remains

Billing by hourly rate

  • Flexible when the scope really is open
  • The final sum only becomes clear at the end of the project
  • Every round of revisions increases the invoice
  • Budget planning in the business turns into guesswork
Our approach

Fixed price with sector knowledge

  • Price fixed before kick-off: from 1,490 € net
  • Portfolio gallery and enquiry form are planned in from the start
  • The website belongs to your business, even without a maintenance contract
  • Ongoing upkeep optional from 39 € net a month

What drives the price

Number and type of pages

A home page with a contact area is built quickly. As soon as separate pages for paving, tree care, pond building or grounds maintenance are added, the effort for structure, navigation and internal linking grows. The available setups are shown in the sectors overview.

Condition of the photography

Your own project photos are far more credible than bought imagery. If they sit unsorted on a phone, preparation from 290 € net is added. If material is missing entirely, we plan a session on one of your sites. Either choice shifts both schedule and price.

Existing copy

If usable text exists, we sort it and put it into shape. If everything has to be written from scratch because only a leaflet and a directory entry exist so far, that is the single largest driver of effort in the project.

Towns in your working area

Every region you want to address deliberately needs its own page with its own content and matching projects. Two neighbouring villages are a different scope from eight towns in the surrounding area. The overview is under regions.

Migrating an existing website

Building from scratch is more predictable than replacing a website that has grown over years. When content migration, redirects and a domain move are involved, we plan that as a separate step and state the effort beforehand.

Careers section and vacancies

A careers section is a build of its own: a vacancy overview, honest information about hours and crew, and a short application route from a phone. That is why it sits in the second tier. Details are on the page about job ads.

What your business contributes

Pictures from real sites

This is the contribution that decides the quality of the finished website. We do not need advertising-grade photography, we need pictures of work you carried out yourselves: the area before the rebuild, an interim stage showing the base layers and the finished result. Where possible with one sentence about where it was and what was done. We take care of the rest. How to take usable pictures with a phone is described on the page photos for your website.

  • Before, interim stage and result per project, where available
  • Location and trade in one sentence, nothing more is needed
  • The customer's approval where a private garden is recognisable

One contact who can decide

Projects rarely stall on the technology, they stall on approvals. So we need one person in the business who signs off copy and photos and who can still be reached in spring. That can be the owner, but it does not have to be. We deliver drafts as whole pages rather than in fragments, so that review needs a few fixed appointments instead of running alongside everything else. Experience shows that where this role is clearly assigned, the website is finished considerably sooner (project experience).

  • One named person for questions and approvals
  • Short response routes instead of review across several stations
  • Feedback on drafts bundled rather than sent in single emails

Payment, contract term and ownership

One-off projects are invoiced in two steps: a part on placing the order, the remainder after acceptance and launch. The exact amounts and dates are in the quote before work begins. Upkeep and hosting run monthly and can be cancelled monthly; there is no minimum term and no automatic renewal for another year. The point that follows matters just as much: the finished website belongs to your business. It is not rented, it is not tied to a maintenance contract, and if you change provider we hand over files and access. The domain and mailbox are in your name, not in ours. Builder subscriptions often handle this differently, which is why it is worth reading the terms closely before cancelling one.

No forced subscription

The website keeps running even if you do not book upkeep or cancel it later. You then only pay for the domain and hosting. We keep upkeep voluntary on purpose, because a contract you cannot cancel is no argument for good work.

Frequently asked questions about prices and scope

How the website of a tree care business could look

The draft shows structure and handling: approaches laid out on tabs, a section on permitted cutting periods, storm damage as a sequence of steps. The business in it is invented.

Draft
Tree care

Tree care with cutting periods and storm procedure

A draft for a tree care business: three approaches — crown care, crown bracing and felling — sit side by side on tabs, and the permitted cutting periods have their own section covering federal nature protection law, municipal tree bylaws and species protection. Six warning signs on the tree lead to the question of when an inspection makes sense. Storm damage is described as a four-step procedure, alongside standby hours, equipment and proof of qualification.
