LANUV was the abbreviation of the Landesamt für Natur, Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz, the state office for nature, environment and consumer protection in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 1 April 2025 the authority has been called Landesamt für Natur, Umwelt und Klima (nature, environment and climate), and a separate state office has taken over consumer protection. Under the old name it published, for example, a methodology paper on the heavy-rain hazard map for North Rhine-Westphalia.
